Sammy and her husband recently bought their first home in Christchurch. As a new build, Sammy was focused on styling the home just how she wanted and getting the right curtains and blinds to suit the space was the perfect finishing touch to bring it all together. Open plan living at it's finest

Sammy's open plan living area features a combination of roller blinds and double track curtains with both sheers and blockouts for maximum functionality. The sheers are Odin from Maurice Kain in Shadow for that slightly textural feel while the roller blinds are Kanawa from our own Russells collection for a complementary look.

With a lovely sunny home, the last thing Sammy wanted to do was have to block out all the light. Use textured neutrals for a soft touch

Bold colours and stand-out patterns were never going to be Sammy's style, but choosing neutral tones that also had some texture woven was the perfect way to bring some visual interest in. Blinds and curtains for different windows

With an open floor plan, Sammy wanted to make sure that there was a cohesive look to her window furnishings, but it wasn't practical to use curtains on all the windows. In the kitchen or behind the couch are ideal placements for roller blinds as they stay out of the way and won't get caught up in anything if there's a breeze. And if the colours are chosen to match, it still creates a lovely coherent look.
